solar dining tray

PEEK was designed in a studio sponsored by Ecole Polytechnique Federale (EPFL), The University of Art and Design, Lausanne, Switzerland. The goal of the studio was to design a product that utilizes solar technology, specifically, a new technology of solar-sensitized ink that can be applied to glass to capture and deliver energy. The most notable aspect of the design is four legs-like projection from the plates that secures plates and glasses, easy to hold from the negative spaces. This also allows free movement at parties. The solar tray senses the weight of an empty cup and connects wirelessly to a social network when I.D. is entered. The romantic tray holds a drinking glass and a plate to enhance a business dinner, social gathering or receptions.

The Peek tray is designed as an elegant product that fits the aesthetics of a professional user. The design is an expression of both efficiency, and modernist simplicity, it is to inspire social interaction.
